Summer.fi Earn : Hands-off yield management app
Yield strategies are often complex and challenging to manage, especially for conservative DeFi users and DeFi-curious retail users. Our job was to create a hands-off yield product that provides a straightforward onboarding process, dynamic information, and an intuitive UI.

User interviews
Based on the qualitative interviews conducted by the UX researcher, we found that:
Achieving high yields in DeFi is challenging. The effort and risk often aren't worth the reward, which can lead to inaction and poor results.
It's hard to understand and get into yield because there's no clear way to see all the different opportunities, causing people to miss out.
Chasing high returns is too expensive and time-consuming for everyone, no matter how much money they have
Competitor analysis
Analyzed the strengths and weaknesses of notable passive yield apps to adopt best practices and avoid repeating their mistakes. We found that the products in the market were either too simple or too complex.
Design strategy
Emphasize visual clarity to make complex information easier to digest
Created a well-structured information hierarchy to avoid overwhelming users
Made second-priority information deprioritized but accessible
Real-time simulate
Displayed real-time estimated earnings to boost user confidence
Transparent fees to eliminate worries and uncertainty
Straightforward onboarding
Designed account/wallet creation flow similar to Web2 patterns, lowering the entry barrier
Educated users on relevant crypto terms at each step of the onboarding process to eliminate confusion.
