Intro
To help users onboard Summer.fi
We wanted to improve the onboarding experience in Summer.fi to get more users to open new positions.
Problems
Don't know where to start from and which position fits my needs
The UX Researcher conducted user interviews and collected some information and feedback from users.
The old product finder: The recommended cards at the top are not connected with the table
Design
Introduced groups with a tab bar to help users identify different types of positions
Filtering by collaterals and debt tokens wasn't helpful enough to help people find an appropriate position, so we defined four categories to help people sort out high-level types of positions:
Toke Farming
Staking Rewards
Restaking
Yield Loops
High-level categories for position types
We moved collaterals and debt tokens to the table filter and added labels to help users select strategies, e.g., Long, Short, Longevity, etc.
Advanced filters like liquidity amount, long/short strategy, automation availibility
Category tabs in the dropdown to help people quickly find a token in a long list
Showing automation icons in each row to indicate if a position supports automations.
